This is my first Jon Gordon book and it certainly won't be my last.A new colleague who also teaches leadership said offhandedly the other day something like, "If you've read one John Maxwell book you've pretty much read them all," and he's right. This book seems like a bid on Gordon's part to be John Maxwell 2.0. There's a lot of good stuff here that I will use in my coursework and my practice as a professor at a Christian college. But he repeats himself a lot here and tells a lot of stories about his other books.I want to read more of his work but at this point Jon Gordon reads like the band Boston sounds - good, familiar, well-executed and precious little variety.
I purchased this book because the reviews recommended it but this book does not teach anything. It simply tells you to create a positive culture and stick to it, well dah. It does not teach HOW to do anything just tells you to do it. If I knew how to I would not need the damn book. This book is simply a cheerleader that's it. There's no roadmap. Waste of money!
This is my first Jon Gordon book and I’ll be reading many more. I’ve read dozens of leadership books like Leaders Eat Last, Emotional Intelligence, etc. but this book puts it all into a short, easy-to-read, real example form. I found it to be entertaining cover-to-cover and full of real substance. I bought 15 copies and am now using it for a book study for my leadership team. I can’t wait to see how they employ it to better lead our teams, and in 2018 every employee will have a word. Thanks Jon for a great read.
Another great book from Jon Gordon! There are so many quotes I could take out of this book and put up on my wall as inspiration! This is an easy read, packed with good insight. I would highly recommend The Power of Positive Leadership for ANYONE, not just business leaders or coaches. I am a stay at home mom and so many guidelines in this book apply to me and everyone else out there.

I liked the book enough to log on amazon to send a copy to a friend when I was half way through reading it. Everyone should read this and understand what it means to be a positive leader! Jon does a wonderful job of capturing the essence of positive leadership with easy to remember lessons told alongside enjoyable real life narratives, often with examples of people he has helped. I came across Jon’s books while casually looking for good material to help create a company culture for my business. Little did I know just how helpful his books would be. After receiving one of his books as a gift, I’ve been hooked! From Jon to Ryan H to the manager of my apartment complex to me, and now to others, his positive messages continue to trickle forward with enthusiasm. Thanks Jon!
A must read for any leader! Couldn't put it down and I must have highlighted 75% of the book for future reference. Jon Gordon brings all of his ideas from previous books into a concise, easy to read manual for positive leaders.
Really enjoyed this book. A bit of a break from the format of Jon’s other books but filled with practical advice and relatable stories about the power of positive leadership. The last three chapters really get you re-centered on purpose, positivity, and the importance about focusing on the long game.
